about the piece

People say "money can't buy happiness," yet it is needed to be able to eat. It is needed to receive help to become happy. It is needed to live our lives. We live in a capitalistic society, a dystopia even, and all we can do is look ahead towards what we wish to attain.

This piece shows how we yearn for things that we wish to have, but can't reach. As kids, we have always wanted to play these different carnival games but are unable to without money, which is shown in my work. The addition of glitching effects onto the image was used to give off simulation vibes, as if we are living in this society that should feel unreal even though it is very much real.
