Is it safe here?
The plan was to just take a single step back.
I thought it would make things better
That it'd be okay
But the time flew by day after day.
The walls smothered me yet brought comfort
I could still feel their glance around every corner
I tried to bury it all, forget the past
But it all kept up with me, it moved too fast.
As the days bled together, the color grew dull
With apathetic eyes, I looked at the world
As if trying to prepare for what came next
But I push forward because that's my best
I want to see the world, I truly do
But, no
It is safe here
