Maria Rodriguez Horta (Mar) is a recent UNLV graduate. She holds a B.A. in Art, concentrating in Drawing, Painting, and Printmaking. During her last year at UNLV, she experimented with creative writing, mixed media, and collage work, combining elements of photography, alternative media, sculpture, and traditional art into her work. Mar makes art about personal experiences and emotions, allowing viewers to step into her mind. Most of her work includes the use of stars, which signifies the beginning of the end, or the end of the beginning, a personal connection the artist has created and has now become a signature to her work.
