“As an artist who often works with feminine themes and has solely photographed feminine figures, I wanted to create work surrounding masculinity. Cupid, Can You Hear Me? explores gender roles, intimacy, and desire. Based on Cupid, the Roman god of desire, love, and attraction, I wanted to evoke a delicate and tender feeling and portray a male figure in a feminine light.”
