The Feeling of Loss

TyJanae Peterson

It's crazy to think years have passed

I try not to think about it at all

Especially not the time

Because with each passing breath

That becomes the past

A past that stays in my mind

But ever so faintly

Time doesn't allow me to forget

But it does make your memory faint

And I hate it

I truly do

To be in your arms

You holding me & I holding you

The sound of your heartbeat pounding in my ear

Light, yet so sweet

I miss you

I miss holding you

And your precious heartbeat

I truly do
