About the Artist
Jamie Zepeda is a Mexican American artist/illustrator from Huntington Park. Zepeda's work is primarily focused on bright colors and how they represent certain emotions. She takes a lot of influence from her cultural background, particularly from the state of Michoacán where there are many bright colors that are used for a variety of clothing and artwork.
Zepeda's primary goal is to be able to represent Latinx people where they are so underrepresented, despite how much of the population they make up, and to be able to promote positive social change. She has received her Associate of Arts Degree from the College of Southern Nevada and her Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Zepeda is currently attending Nevada State College for a Bachelor of Science Degree in Animation and is working for the City of Las Vegas's Office of Cultural Affairs. She is currently based in Las Vegas, Nevada.
